about amelia
Hi, I'm Amelia (they/them). I'm a white, fat, queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent therapist who brings both professional training and lived experience to my work. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a client myself, and therapy genuinely changed my life. I believe deeply in the power of authentic connection and the transformative potential of therapy when it honors who you are and where you come from.
who this work is for
I work primarily with fat, queer, and neurodivergent folks who are navigating the everyday realities of living in bodies and identities that the world wasn't built for. Whether you're dealing with size oppression, transphobia, ableism, or trauma that shows up in unexpected ways, my practice is grounded in the belief that you already possess an inherent capacity for healing.
my approach
My approach draws from person-centered, relational, feminist, liberatory, and trauma-informed frameworks. I work at depth, exploring the patterns and stories that shape how we move through the world, while staying grounded in the practical realities of your life. I'm trained in EMDR, somatic approaches, expressive arts, and grief and loss work, and I'm Body Trust certified.
you are the expert on your own experience.
We decide together what we work on and how—this is your therapy, and you get to shape what it looks like. My role isn't to fix you or give you answers. I'm here as a companion and guide, helping you access strengths you may not see and build on what already works for you.
I practice virtually and serve clients across Oregon. If you're looking for a therapist who gets it—who understands what it's like to exist in a marginalized body, who won't pathologize your survival strategies, and who believes in your capacity to heal—I'd be honored to work with you.
